Graduation 2026 Class

A Heartwarming Graduation at Clarecastle Community Playgroup

The familiar hum of our Clarecastle playroom felt entirely different this week. Blue and white balloons bobbed cheerfully against the walls, and a magnificent “Class of 2026” banner hung proudly for all to see. It was graduation day, and the air crackled with a beautiful mix of excitement and poignant nostalgia. Leaving a Colourful Mark Upon arriving, the children immediately gravitated towards our brilliant handprint canvas (as seen in the picture collage). Seeing those tiny, colourful prints next to names

Golden Trophies and Giggly Sprints: Celebrating Our Annual Sports Day

The chorus of excited laughter, competative spirit echoed across the lush green turf this week. It was time for our highly anticipated annual sports day, and the energy in the air was simply electric! We gathered at the fantastic local GAA Astro turf pitch, an incredible venue made possible by the brilliant Sarah Concannon who kindly booked it for our playgroup. We also owe a massive thank you to the Clarecastle Astro Pitch Committee for their wonderful support in making

The children had great delight

When a massive, brilliant blue coach finally pulled into view, the joyous cheers could be heard all the way across Clarecastle! Our destination was the magnificent

Sowing Seeds of Wonder: A Muddy, Magical Day of Planting

There is a very special kind of magic that happens when you hand a child a scoop of soil and a tiny seed. It is the beginning of an adventure in patience, responsibility, and pure wonder. This week, we decided to bring the beauty of the natural environment straight to our playground tarmac, rolling up our sleeves to learn exactly what it takes to help living things thrive. The children gathered around a bright blue play table, entirely eager to

The Magic of Bees: A Buzzing Day of Play and Discovery in Clare

This week, our playgroup was transformed into a buzzing hive of activity and joy. We had the absolute privilege of welcoming Tom and Dillion from Shannonside Honey, two wonderful local beekeepers from County Clare, who came to teach our little ones all about the magic of nature to celebrate World Bee Day 2026. The children were completely mesmerised when one of our guests stood before them in a full white protective beekeeping suit, complete with a veiled hat. Tom and
